View Full Version : King of Fighters XII - hand drawn madness

I've never even played a King of Fighters game, but theyre approach on this one has me interested purely from an artistic perspective. From what i can tell they're hand drawing every frame of animation in HD ( kinda like street fighter II HD). The result here is spectacular. Has anyone got into these games, are they any good?

Sometimes I wish Street Fighter 4 took this approach because KOFXII looks absolutely fantastic.

I'm happy SNK is sticking with 2D also, even happier that they're changing the sprites after years of using the KOF '96 styled sprites. I REALLY wish I could play this now!

well that was just freakin' delicious. thanks for finding that i wasn't even paying attention.

SNK fighters can be just as immersive as any other good fighter out there. some of the control schemes are a little different and if you played Capcom Vs SNK 1 or 2 at all then that's pretty much how they all feel for better or worse. I happen to like it. I know a lotta people who don't.

Amaranth: You're absolutely right but let's keep our fingers crossed anyway :)

Not to be rude, but I think that all the KOF games are pretty much the same game with various changes to the graphics at certain points of this series' existance.

The animation is sick! Almost like watching anime hahah. I would buy this game.

I wish the next-gen follow up to Guilty Gear looked this good :.

This one looks pretty painted and just slightly more cartoony. Or maybe the word is stylized.

That's pretty slick looking. I used to play '99 all the time when I was a kid. No Mai, though? That's odd.
