hey guys, for my first art post i figured id post some figures drawing since im working on them for my portfolio for college. im mainly looking at ringling, calarts and savanah for the computer animation majors. any crits would be really helpful, ill try to update the thread weekly with some new drawings

I'm not sure I am right here.
Btw. did you draw that "old drawing" from reference?

I think the face is weird somehow.
It seems to be either viewed directly from the side or she is looking away from the viewer.
The top half suggests that she is looking away ...
the lower half suggests side view. IMHO.
Also the left side of her butt seems strange.
Maybe that was what it looked like in a reference image ... !?
But if you put it in a portfolio and others too think it is weird then you might have a problem.

Shading is ok I guess but the hair seems flat a little.
But I'm NOT SURE OF ANYTHING ... these are just my random thoughts.

I agree. I like the sketches but I think the pic of the woman has too much of a prominent jaw. Just imo :D

hey thanks for the comments guys, your right about the butt being weird and i changed the jaw some, i did the original drawing a month or so ago about the same time i started my acc figure drawing classes so i couldnt tell you if it was off a refernce or not. I'm working on another drawing right now ill post soon

Otherwise, what they said...plus a bit more...but I wanna see photo ref first before I put my foot in thy mouth...heh
