Hi!!
I like when brush starts with color you choose and bleeds into colors on the canvas. If you start with blue color, but the canvas is red, the stroke you make will graduete from blue to red. In painter Bleed option is responsible to it. Could you help to get it in Photoshop?
Sorry if this was discussed, i have found settings for smudge brush that works fine as blend brush.

iirc Painter's brush engine works completely different from Photoshop's, as Photoshop doesn't actually blend colors when you paint like in Painter

I could be wrong though I'm no expert at this stuff :P

AFAIK that isn't possible with Photoshop's brush engine, it's the one thing for me that I would use Painter for.

Alt+click while using a brush will allow you to colour pick, and if you are using a brush that has opacity control on it should do it for you. Also, if you want pure bleed, opacity control or Wet Edge works. = )

Unfortunately as it seems, with Photoshop you have to blend the actual colours to achieve an effect like that. The brushes dont blend automatically.
