As the title says, if you're a beginner and need some help or if you've got some great tuts to share with the nooblets feel free.

Sketchup is a great way for a 2d artist to break into the 3d realm without too much sweat. It's insanely easier to use in comparison to most Pro 3d programs but now I'm just reiterating what Davi said.

So cast of your trepidations and help us populate this community with more astounding art. Here's to you.

Here's a tutorial I made for importing and setting up blueprints or elevation drawings into Sketchup. Plus the site that's hosting it has tons of reference pics!!

http://www.the-blueprints.com/index.php?tutorials/sketchup/

It's for Sketchup 6, but it should all work with 7.

Sketchup 7 rocks by the way.

Same here. Just paint over? Create basic layout and perspective and paint over? use it as reference? I'm such a 3d noob I need to be hit with the stick of knowledge a few times...

The video tutorials listed on the google sketchup site is very informative so I suggest you check that out.

There is a screen caption you can take with your lighting setup depending on time of day. After that you can take a caption, port it to PS and just paintover it.

Yeah in Coro's vid he seems to be painting over his sketchup models. Unfortunately I can't afford to purchase the video. I only saw a preview.

It would be great to get an idea of how he does it though.
