Hey everybody! My name is Garrett, I'm 19 and I live in utah. I love drawing... it gives me TONS of satisfaction! I don't have previous experience drawing, I've done doodles during school, took a drawing class (but I didn't take it seriously at the time...bummer) but nothing special.

I leave for Basic training for the United states Airforce on March 28th so I want to improve as much as possible before I leave and once I'm out I'm planning on going to an art college(paid for by the Military!)
I'm also an aspiring bodybuilder and work-out 6 days a week. anyways, What I hope to achieve:

As of right now -
Become good at gestures
Improve my values
accurate porportions

Thanks for looking! appreciate it.

Here are some 60 second gestures I did from Posemaniacs. Tons more coming. I'm DEDICATED!

Wowie! I got George Bridgmans book; Drawing from Life and it's helped me SO much so far. I'm learning about rhythm and the center of gravity not to mention the different sizes of each body part.. Chest = 12" high, 10" wide
Pelvis = "8 high, 10" wide and the head = 8" high 6" wide, etc.

The upper and lower limbs are held in place by "ball and socket joints" and the elbow and knee by a "hinge"

I'm studying human porportions. ex, 8 heads = michaelango, 7 heads = Dr. richards. Etc. It's all helping me learn at a faster rate, which i need for sure.

Here are some drawings/studies i did today, theres a lot more but it takes forever to scan :[ need to find a better method of scanning.

Just checkin in, I've been drawing everyday but I need to find some time to scan them all. I finished reading George bridgmans book also, I think I studied/drew a picture from every page. Learned a lot. peace.
