My husband John Murray is teaching a Portrait and Figure Painting course this upcoming semester at the Art Students League in Alexandria, Virginia. If anyone is in DC/MD/VA area, you can join it. It's offered on Sundays from 11 to 3 p.m. and it starts January 18 and is 9 weeks. John's website is www.johnfrancismurray.com
John is a very good teacher, very patient and inspiring. Also, his setups are usually extremely beautiful. His own training was at Pennsylvania Academy, John Michael Angel in Florence and Repin Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia. Also, for 16 years he worked as a banknote designer at the Bureau of Printing and Engraving. Here are just a few of his paintings, but you can see many more on his website.
