hey, my name's Todd. I had a sketchbook here, but I neglected it too much to really amass much interest.

I've made a new year's resolution to draw something everyday, so I hope this new sketchbook will help along the way.

I can't help but feel a little hopeless whenever I draw something, because the vast difference in skill between me and some of the other artists on this site [particularly those my own age] is so overwhelming. That said, please be as harsh as possibly with critique so that I can know how to improve.

Probably one of my biggest weaknesses is my inability to finish drawings and tendency to get sidetracked, so I'll be working on that.

well, that's the end of the speech, lol. thanks for looking! :]

really cool stuff. great colors. but you need to put more detail on your faces. take your time. and try to do small drawings. as you will most likely be able to finish them with out lossing interest. that seems to be my problem. if iam not feeling the drawing. i won.t really have much interest to spend time on it or finish it.

hi there, thanks for dropin by.
you got some nice stuff here, those little portrait sketches are awesome.
I have the same problem like you, with not finish drawings :D
I would recommend mostly lifedrawings because many people said that to me and it really helps me a lot^^
(please excuse my bad english:S)

The master study is definitely a stroke towards discipline in regards to your laziness. Whatever you did there keep doing it, and better yourself as an artist to know the viewer, has reeped great rewards from every piece you do, even if it takes a lot of convincing for your inner self. Your portraits have gotten better since the first post- you might need to loosen up a bit, sketch more often with less limits and more freedom. I think it would be to your advantage greatly.

I've been really busy lately, unfortunately, but [hopefully] the updating will now continue

I really like the yellow figure a bit up there: it has great line and shape. The pastel studies look like they need some darker shades and more pronounced highlights on the objects themselves. looks a bit flat otherwise. keep it up!

hey thanks for the comment. it was my first time w/ pastels so I'm still a bit clueless about them. I'll keep your advice in mind for next time.
