View Full Version : Brush Rotation?

I seem to be having trouble with my brush settings. I got a 6D art pen for my Cintiq this Christmas, but I can't seem to get rotation to work on it at all. It's like the setting just doesn't do anything; I can set my Angle dynamic to any other setting (pen pressure, tilt, wheel, direction, anything) and they all work fine; but if I set it to Rotation it's like it's just set to off.

Does anyone know what I need to do to get rotation to function properly?

I'm using Adobe Photoshop CS4.

Thanks in advance. :)

I'm having the same problem... I'll let you know if I figure it out.

It works, you probably think it's not working because the brush doesn't rotate with the pen, which by the way is called brush ghosting. It works perfectly in Painter X. I created a thread about this exact problem, scroll down and you'll see it, no one replied though. I'm guessing because this pen is a waste of money and that's why no one bought it.

I don't think the pen is a waste of money; the people at Wacom aren't idiots, I'm sure they tested the thing and it worked fine. And since it's specifically designed for the Cintiq, I'm guessing it's an issue with Photoshop, not the pen.

The description of the pen on Wacom's site says it's designed to account for barrel rotation; and I'm sure they didn't flat out lie. It's just an issue with PS I'm guessing.

It is a Photoshop issue. I love the pen... rotating a chisel brush can produce some great brushwork. I've been using it with Painter IX and X as well as Photoshop CS3 and there's been no issues.
Normally even when it works in PS the brush icon doesn't rotate, but it's easy to see ifit's working or not, so that's not the issue. The brush icon DOES rotate in painter though, which is cool.
I've looked all over the web for anysolutions and haven't found anything... might have to wait for an updated driver.

@Andantonius, I did say it works perfectly in Painter. So one can infer that I was referring to Photoshop when I said it's a waste of money.
