Okay, so I created an image in painter and then brought that into photoshop, added some type and things and printed. It came out really dark compared to every monitor I've looked at it on. I know I used some bright colors too. Any advice in color correction is great and welcome, I'm playing with ways to componsate.

Glow tool. I used glow tool on layers set on screen and it looks nothing like how it does on the monitor. I used sort of a fire engine red and when it prints it's basically white. Any thoughts? Should I start with a darker color for glow tool?

Any help or thoughts are very welcome.

Below, I'll show you a demo done in Corel Painter IX.5 (only because I had that version open at the time) that should help explain how to choose the glow color. It was done quickly so ignore the fact that it's not a well done glow example. I painted the glow, then did some blending using the Blenders' Just Add Water variant and, again, with a little more time you could do a much better job.

1. Choose the color to which you want to add a glow.

2. Move the small circle on the Colors palette's Saturation/Value Triangle to the lower edge as shown in the demo below.

3. Then paint directly on the original color with the F/X's Glow variant, adjusting brush size and opacity as needed. I've found that leaving Opacity alone and just increasing Size works best (for me).

You may need more help getting the colors right for printing, but try this and see if it helps.
