Alright, heres the deal. For the past month or so, my drawings have been straight up shit. I think its the lack of inspiration and focus in my work. They're all mindless doodles. So, I hope that music will enlighten me. And I can't listen to the radio because all it plays is either, A) Crap like Britney Spears or B) country honkey-tonk crap. So! I was hoping that maybe you guys could post some of your favorite music, songs, or bands. I like pretty much anything besides rap, girly or fruity pop stuff, and country music. It would be much appreciated.

there are at least a few talented musicians on ocremix.org. it's all remixed game music, some of it is pretty good. most all of it is electronic, but whatever. the megaman stuff is generally pretty good.
other than that, go for mood music. really loud or really soft tends to do it best for me. my playlist is such a jumble of missmatched songs that it's funny. dope, slipknot, spineshank, fatboy silm, ozzy, eric clapton (fear layla), nirvana, just whatever works for you.
i've talked to people that swear by the kind of underground rap that makes church ladies cry. not my bag of chips, but whatever works, i think that's becoming the moral of this thread.

Apocalyptica - Really great music, stringed instruments only, no vocals.
Mythos - Ambience music, great for drawing. Again, no vocals.
E Nomine - German band, has a great sound for those big projects.
Era - I have no clue where Era is from, but they have some nice rhythm to their songs.
Kill Bill Soundtrack - Some nice songs on there, if you skip over the krappy movie promotion stuff.
Requiem For a Deam Soundtrack - Hot music :). Has some GREAT music by Kronos Quartet.
Kronos Quartet - See above ;)
Theatre of Tragedy - Some great songs, nice beats, etc.
VNV Nation - Just a personal favorite. Great music.
Wumpscut - Now this is a group that I haven't found one other person that likes it. But when you love it you love it.
Also if you have winamp, check out this site:

Check out the trance and chillout stations, really great music. The chillout station has the best (I think) music for drawing :)

Check out Spinner (http://www.spinner.com/floor.jhtml?url=%2F_tempdex.jhtml&_requestid=5432818&_requestid=5432828). It is an internet radio with a TON of channels. I used to listen to it all the time when I was working, but now that I'm in school full-time I don't (because you have to install a small app). They have several channels for every musical taste out there. From great music to Neo-metal ;) , it's all there.

skank, there ain't nothin' wrong with Enya, man. In fact I just got in the mail a four-CD collection spanning her entire career. She's really talented; she usually does all the voices and instruments herself (which is like 300 voices at once). I love listening to her when I had a hard day and I need to calm down.
But when I need to draw and color my stuff on the computer, I like to listen to electronica/dance music, like Digweed & Sasha and the first two Matrix albums. The Animatrix album is good too.

reggae music. If you have like 300k internet go to itunes radio in the reggae/island part and listen to creation-steppin' radio. I listend to it for three hours straight and loved every minute. its very uplifting, positive music that inspires me to draw bright happy pictures. its like the opposite to my drawings when listining to AFI "all hallows EP" and "the art of drowning" which are my favorite cds
