soo I received some MB dvds for this christmas season...(all which were wonderfull and perfect gifts) and started with Androids Boss monster tutorials
and while in Zbrush he had a lot of bones and other pre renderd modles
he talked about how he had a team of modlers so he had some already
at his disposel.
question is, is their any place to get some free models to play around with in
zbrush in the same fasion as android, i already tried the zbrush home page and looked around here on CA

i dont know about free...but you ought to check out cgtalk.com; i am sure there are z-brush users aplenty over there. if you strike up some friendships some of your buddies may throw you a bone...so to speak :dur:

try here: Gnomonology freestuff. (http://gnomonology.com/prod/25)
Some models and alphas. renderosity and content paradise have freebies - you don't need poser to screw around with the .obj's.
have fun.

You might find something you can use on Turbosquid
http://www.turbosquid.com/Search/Index.cfm
Type 0 as the max price in the search and it should throw out freebies you can use.
If you want to play with knocking up your own primitives Wings3d is a very accesible little freeware modeller that supports .obj files.

Hey, you do know that there are some preset objects you can fool around with under the Tool Menu, right? If you use one of the primitives there, you can adjust the shapes using the Initialize Menu - if you experiment with the available parameters you can radically alter those meshes. In this picture, I only changed 1 parameter [TILT] to get all these different shapes. Just fool around to see what each one does.

Hope that helps,
