Well guys, I thought i would introduce myself here. i see a lot of familiar folks in here, most of you may not know me but here is my work... enjoy or don't enjoy.
Sorry about the photos.... I had to use flash because its nighttime, so I shot them all at an angle....
These are all from life with the exception of the girl with the tea cups.

Very cool stuff. As soon as i saw the look of your work, and then your handle, I kind of put 2 and 2 together, as i know of that "pro" name. I know alot about the old california art institute, back in its heyday. Mostly from one of my teachers, jeff, telling me about it. I've seen alot of greg's work from old photos, but I have only heard of your name only recently. Thats really cool that you still got to take classes with orbik. I read your bio on your site, and most of the names you throw out in it, are all the people associated with that lineage of training. I'm always glad to hear about that school and the great people that have come out of it, and its history which few know and appreciate. Sorry, this is a novel:D Great stuff though, definately can see the lipking and wurmser influence.

Thanks...
One of my main reasons for posting my work here is to let people know that California Art Institute does still exist... its the school that started them all out here in Southern California.... Myself and Ryan are still teaching there... but we are training some students that not too people know about but they are getting really good.... Jeremy, Ryan and I were classmates in Glenn's class.
The school is still alive and well but it doesn't get too many serious artists there anymore... the other schools took care of that....
I will post more in the coming weeks.
If anyone is interested in taking my class.. I have a Monday night figure and head painting class... it will be an advanced class very soon. Lots of form painting discussion and we are going to dive in Solomon J. Solomon's text and practice his methods in the class.... with a more modern twist. If you don't know who Solomon J. Solomon is, look him up... he's is "da bomb." I alsohire my own models... so neeedless to say we get great models... sometimes Playboy models too....

Heh-heh, where do I sign up? But wouldn't all my paintings would look like the renders at Renderosity: Poser models with huge fake tits? :D

Good work. I see your inspirations. Lipking and Schmid. Great choices.
Although I find two paintings very close to their color and setup and subject matter, which is sort of odd.

The one of the girl with tea cups is my wife. We shot that in the same place that Jeremy shot his wife... we were with Jeremy and his wife at their cabin, so naturally it will look the same because the setup was the same.... plus we have the same training and we like the same artists....
the other one was pure coincidence... I had been wanting to do a reclinging nude for a while... that was the setup I had to work with at the time....
thanks for the comments though... I had a feeling someone would point that out.

Hello TOny. This is beautiful work. I am glad to see familiar faces around here. Is aarorn westerberg, or andrew still teaching up there? And have you met, and/or know of what ever came of Stan Rogers? ANyway, I am really inspired by your work, it is really nicely handled, and you have a great sense of color.
Keep posting, and maybe my wife and I and a few other instructors/students down here will pilgrimidge up to visit the school soon.
Take care and thank you for sharing.

Thanks so much. I have been watching you guys from up here.... Jeff really has done well with his school down there. I started studying with Glenn right after Jeff left CAI.
I have been really enjoying your figure drawing demo posts... they are great. You a re building the makings for a great drawing instructional.
Do come up sometime and see us. Come paint!
Aaron and Andrew are still teaching at the school. Jeff Wand talks about you all the time. Stan is around but not at our school. i only just met him a couple months ago at hte CAC Gold Medal show.
Thanks again for the compliments and hopefully we will meet soon.

beautiful work! I also love the profile of the old man. the last nude shows a great sense of process which is always wonderful to see in a collection of posted paintings. way to go! I really love that 3rd painting down (the seated nude), excellent approach to the face.
