Middle-Earth Online concept image...

It ain't much, but it's what I can show so far.... it's in this month's Middle-Earth Online newsletter...it's an image of "Carn Dum".

I admit the clouds were an afterthought, this was just a very quick concept drawing, intended mainly to get the idea across.

Cycrincy - Carn Dum is different than Mount Doom. Carn Dum was the home of the Witch-King of Angmar, who lived in the Northlands of Middle-Earth.

Again, I realize it is a quicky, but it is the first thing I can show. There is much more I have done, but of course, I cannot show anything myself until Vivendi Universal does so themselves.

Looks great Mutton :) Nice RTS angle to it. Unfortunately, if this is the home to the Witch-King of Angmar (the head Nazgul) I do believe his home (as you said) was in the Frozen Northlands of Middle Earth. While this appears to be in a crater and has alot of the reminiscent feel of Sauron, I don't think it accurately gives the right vibe of the setting. Just my two cents, coming from a Tolkien fan :)

But bravo nonetheless!

Id pick a different camera angle personaly. Put the horzion line down lower. But thats just my taste.

The flying buttress architecture is great and the whole structure screams
"evil lair" :)

The background is the weakest area, as other have already mentioned.

I'm not familiar enough with the Ring Wraith back-story to say if this is an accurate depiction of Carn Dum or not, but Tolkien is one of those subjects where the fans know every little detail...:p

Youd have to be a bit of a moron to build your house in the crater of an active volcano.

The architecture looks pretty good though.

Mabye if they lived 'on the edge' rather than 'on top of', it wouldnt seem as bad. It just has this -looking down the barrel of a loaded gun- comical effect to it if you know what i mean.

Dude the witch king is so evil that the volcano is like "dude I want to errupt, but the witch king lives in my crater and he'll kick my hole if I do!" and the witch king is all like "Biyach!"
Plus he harnesses the raw heat of the volcano to power his evil machines of death which lie deep within the dungeons of his Infernal fortress.
