Searching (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/search.php) can help on *rare* occasions.
Next to that, just draw draw draw and draw. and while you're at it, draw some more.
Just look at guys like Wolfbane, Dile_ and Miles_.

As you are going to study you should know that learning is an active process. You can't expect someone to give you all you need and that you will just sitting and assimilating. :) You should develop curiosity and passion for the things. That means doing researches -a lot of them to gain enough information. But then information is nothing without practicing so Next step -Action!- in you case -draw!!! From life, from reference photos and ect. -you should develop some drawing habits at first.
Start sketchbook here:

so you can give oportunity to people to follow your development and give you advices . Every advice is valuable one but it depends how you are going to use it.
You can use this site: posemaniacs.com to start with anatomy.
Check this thread:

You can download free artbooks here. The books will give you basic ideas but then practice makes the master! :)
You need to find own way to do the things.
Just practice , draw and don't give up.

try and find a life drawing class, if possible. a strong life drawing portfolio is a must if you are going to go into animation. some great art books can be found here - http://acid.noobgrinder.com/Loomis/ free to download.
