Hey everyone, if u dont care much for lengthy introductions, feel free to just skip the wall of text and just watch the pictures (i would like some c&c tho ;))

Anyway im sure none of u know me, as im a lurker(this place is freaking intimidating!) and well, normally, im a modeller/texturer really, but id like to consider myself an allround artist that can do a little bit of everything, and for the past... i think its exactly 6 months, maya and zbrush have been taking up, well if not all my time, most of it, and heres the funny thing, i actually got pretty good. But heres where this post comes in, i cant do my own concept art, my concepts usually consist of a couple of referencepics and alot of improvising, which btw really isnt a good thing.

When i got into the cgscene i kinda wanted to be a concept artist, but i fell in love with maya, and well i havent been drawing or painting much lately, so now ive decided that im gonna bite the bullet and actually do something about it, and well im pretty good at throwing everything else aside and locking myself up for a few weeks, so thats what im gonna do now that i finally have the time again, and hopefully ill become a better artist in the process =)

I guess ill start off with the figuredrawings i made tonight...

Let the uploading begin!

Bra start, figur (kroki..?) studierna ser bra ut! (Kul med fler svenskar på forumet ^_^)

I'll sum up the tips I've got so far in my thread: draw big and stay loose (improves lines), study anatomy (loomis books, bammes, bridgman... the usual lot), draw from life a lot, draw from imagination a lot and pay attention to proportions... i guess that's it really.

You can find the Loomis books for free here btw:

I envy you, man! I'm trying to self-teach Maya and ZBrush and its been a killer! For some odd reason, drawing comes easier than 3D modeling or texturing.

I like the stuff you put up. It's a little hard to see some of the construction lines though. Might be my monitor is too bright. Still, good start!
