I am the creator/writer of a sci-fi IP. I am currently working on serial stories set in said IP, and require the work of an artist/illustrator. Essentially I will provide the short story (approx. 3000-6000 words) and in each story will be the inspiration and guidelines for the 2-4 illustrations that will need to be completed by the artist. For what will hopefully be an equal effort put forth by both myself and the artist, profits will be split 50/50, which should mean $.50 per person per story sold. Unfortunately no specific dollar amount can be guaranteed due to unpredictable nature of the market.
The artist will have considerable creative control of the content he creates. The artist should possess the following characteristics:
- Artist should be dependable and professional in their work ethic and communication skills (i.e. able to communicate well and regularly)
- Artist should have experience in doing science fiction renders in whatever medium(s) they will be utilizing on this project, and preferrably have a sincere passion for science fiction in general
- Artist should be passionate about their work
I work well with others, and try to be as flexible and understanding as possible. In my experience, being tightly wound or attempting to run an operation as such can be more conducive to substantial difficulties. I am very excited to start releasing these stories. Again, though I am regrettably unable to guarantee specific monetary compensation, I can guarantee honesty, loyalty, and respect in all dealings, present and future.
