As the subject makes obvious we are working on a 3d remake of the arcade classic "Joust". I´m really proud of this first selection and I thought you guys deserved to get the chance to drool over the fantastic concepts Android and Hurricane have been producing for our game. All of them are currently being worked on by a team of enthusiastic fans (who happen to be pro game designers) and we hope to have some screenshots soon.
Please use the link below to get to our art section where you can take a look at the large versions of each design. And when you are there, why not join our boards? Even as non-team members you have total access to see what our modellers are working on and we look forward to getting some feedback :)
Additional information about the game can be found on our homepage! have fun!

I think Andrew's concepts are great. They are nailing a few things the others (Hurricane's) are not. That is, the former's are light and airy even when bulky - probably due to the proportions of the limbs. They look like knights of the air. Their armor also evokes wind and sky motifs both in form and in decoration, looking at the same time familiar to us by implied function but otherwordly in application. The later designs, while beautifully executed are missing in all of those elements. They are impossibly bulky and earthbound. Their lines and shapes are derivative and seem to be overgrown versions of familiar if not overused shapes. I feel they miss the point of jousting in the skies in another reality entirely.

sweet jebus thats cool
i love how his armor has a cool embosed look to it
he looks a bit thin in the pelvic region tho, im guessing you did it on purpose to add a strangeness to it, but just thought id bring it up anyway :chug:
its cool to see your designs man, dont get to see very many of them

Is that armour made from that cool metal they sometimes use for custom hand made knifes. it gives a very cool woody pattern look to it. i cant remember the name. but i have seen some cool knives with this type of steel. pretty wicked concept man.

For some reason I've always thought of Final Fantasy's chocobo's as being similar to the Joust birds.
