i had no idea where to post this but oh well, here we go.
This is a concept of a story i have been working on for to long with to little progression.
ive been working mostly on the creature desing that is fairly interesting and fun to do.
here goes.
The creature/parasite live in the remote wood where the climate is somewhat warm and dense, but if it is a place with seasons like winter or something like it it hybernates.
the parasite it self lives thanks to the trees and solar energt. It connects to the trees with roots, and with those roots it can "feel" the trees so if anythreats come it knows.
The parasite it self looks like a collection of green half transparent stones, but the collection lives im symbios with eachother and the trees/plants in the sorrounding area.

when the parasite has enough energy stored (stolen from the trees and sun) it can reproduce by using a remote tree. The parasite uses its roots/tentacle to plant a seed in one tree and then the seed grows inside the tree.

But the seed must be remote or else it will die with the host and the "main" parasite, since the trees in the sorrounding dies it has to connect with the more remote trees and if the seed is to close the seed will consume the trees and leaving both of the parasites to die.
Attack.
If a threat is aimed at the trees the parasite(s) will "feel" it and it will even feel how large and threatening it is, thats when it produces its soldiers.

the soldiers is hatched from the green stones in the parasites, and the soldiers get a main goal in its lifetime, to search and destroy. after the threat has been destroyed it dies and be turned into earth in a short time, if the soldier is far away from the parasite it will return and later on die. That way none of the energy from the soldiers will vanish, when the soldiers die the nutritions needed and energy is passed thrue the soil and to the parasites roots.
But the soldiers is so into getting the target destroyed it can follow the target for years before killing or destroying it.And during the time its on the loose it learns how things work in the world and can addapt and evolve.
if there is more than one soldier on the move they can communicate either thru trees of thrue the lenses they have on their arms

they use a type of communication that can be misstaken for morse code.
the parasites exists in the whole world thru the woods and since its been alive for millions of years people have seen them and its been called for demon, witches and goblins, but of course now in moderna age its refered to aliens and ufos.
if you have any ?,crits or suggestions im more than happy to know.
