CS4 is not allowing me to rotate the canvas! What's wrong? I keep getting this message: "Could not complete your request because it only works with OpenGL enabled document windows."
Aw, man...this sucks.
Thanks for the help!

Under the pref menu>performance there should be the open GL option. But PS will see if your computer supports it. If not the option will be grayed out.I think it has the be the GPU or the graphics card that has to support the open GL. CS4 is kind of based off the GPU for these new functions. This may be the issue but the menus may be different in CS4 I was looking at CS3. And are you using Mac or PC. Don't know if this helps and I am no expert on this matter. The place to start would be Adobe.com>CS4 system requirements. And they have a list of the supported hardware for these functions. And you may want to post in the PS CS4 thread I have found alot of good info there on these same issues. Along with performance issues and fixes.

I actually checked the preferences, but yeah...it's grayed out alright...I tried updating my driver but that didn't work.
I think I'll go back to ol' CS3.
Thanks for the help, man.

I really don't think it is a driver issue. Some say it may be. I am waiting to update also. This time around I am waiting on both PC and Apple. But even though I got reamed by someone the other day about saying the apple is more stable. I still think it is going to run better on OS 10.5. There just has not been many people posting saying that they are using a Mac to run CS4. I just looked and some guy said it was running on an older G4 pretty well. But he had to turn off the accelerated features also. Which in IMO kind of defeats the purpose of those Open GL features. I have to use the entire suite for work and photography so I am more excited about all the new features all the way from PS through Bridge into InDesign. Also the multi artboard in Illustrator is pretty cool and the ink manager right in Illustrator. I am guessing that alot of people are just dissapointed with the painting features. Which they should be for such an industry standard program.

MY FRIEND ! I had the same problem...Firstly What OS are you running ? I had XP-64 and openGL isn't supported or something but good news ! There IS a soilution
http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4056
Grab that, open it and double click 'AllowOldGPUS_ON.reg'
This allows your registry to use Open GL Worked fine for me :)
Also on WACOMS site a new patch for some Tablets was released on 12-15-08 Take a look there :)

Thanks, man but that did not work for me too. I did some research and it appears my video card only supports openGL version 1.
