I'm having a heck of a time finding a decent DVD on sculpting (clay, not digital). I want to get one for a friend for the coming holiday, but I haven't been able to locate a good dvd that isn't outrageously expensive. I was just about to shell out $50 on a dvd (Sculpture with John Brown vol. 2), but it was too painful.. I am not wealthy by any means. I am aware of one other, smellybug's maquette tutorial, but I don't know what others think of it..
Am I just asking for too much, or should I just look harder?

The Pete Konig (smellybug) DVD is great. I'm not even very interested in sculp[ting, but i find myself watching it quite often. I'd be very aprpeciative is someone got it for me as a gift.

Also (without the spaces) G N O M O N Workshop's Sculpture with John Brown are fantastic as well. There are 7 DVD's of his. All are really well done. I don't even sculpt and I picked up a ton of info watching them.

A simple Google and first click gave me this.

http://www.clayalley.com/dvds.htmI actually saw this. Wendy Froud's DVD looks interesting, but it's more puppet/doll-oriented. Still...

Yup - John Brown's and Pete Koenig's DVDs are great. You can also check or ask on the Shifflet Bros forum - it's a small sculpting community.

They also have a live stream on their website of their studio.

http://philippefaraut.com/Wow! This guy is truly a master of his art. Can't believe I've never heard of him, so thanks. I don't know about a $70 DVD, though..
