I've been working on this master copy. I did a drawing of it a few months ago and thought I should try and paint it in Painter8. I still have a ways to go on it, but I figured I should jsut post a WIP. Any comments/crits would be helpful!

I'm not really going for an EXACT (or as close as possible) master copy. I just really like the painting, so I thought I would try it out for myself.

I'm unsure of the name, I think it might be called "Richard Burton" but it is by Lord Frederick Leighton.

My only comment would be, if you can help it, do it with real oils. Leighton,alma-tadema, bouggereau, etc. all work in glazes, and slowly built up their paintings. I don't know anything about digital stuff, so i don't know if you can do that. Maybe keep creating new layers? As far as the acutal drawing goes, i think its looking really nice. The nose may be a touch long, and i mean slight. But i dunno. And the far eye is looking a little funny right now. But its a wip, so maybe you just haven't gotten to it yet. But yeah, oils man. The real deal.

Yeah, Im planning on doing it in real oils later. I don't think I'm good enough to do a good attempt yet.

As fas as my WIP, yeah, I've only really worked on the nose and the closest eye.. I still need to rework the forehead/cheack and other eye and tighten up the ear...

alot of work ahead of me in that pic :o
