Since I can't really draw I thought I would give digital painting a crack.
this is my very first "painting". It was made in PhotoShop 7. I'm really proud at how it worked out, after having to trash it at least twice before reaching this result.
What do you guys think?

Nice lookin cloud. Though depending on what kind of effect you want to have I would work on giving it more volume....really show off the "puffiness" of the cloud. Darker shadows to fill it out.
Good job though Keep it up

Wow! That looks great. You may want to add a little more to the blank blue sky. Maybe add some wisps of the clouds, trails I guess. You may also want to make the darker side a little more detailed, like having sun rays come through the cloud. That would really give it a really cool feel.
Nice job :)

I agree with what everyone else has said. It was a very nice job. If you want to know why your picture won't show up, read what it says for your avatar. "Please do not link images directly to a PicServer's mirror. Copy the URL of the picture in the Manage Pictures area." By the way, your avatar really should be only 50 x 50.

Hi, nice cloud,
I tried some cloud painting in photoshop too,
check it: http://picserv.beyond-reality.nl/getpicture.php?id=475433&check=4ba21d
I used a tutorial, but I was fairly pleased with it, since I haven't really used photoshop to paint much.

That's a nice little cloud. Reminds me of a tutorial I read somewhere. Did you follow one ? Used reference ?..
As for your pic, this might explain :

Yes that's a nice cloud. Did you by chance follow this tutorial by Steven Stahlberg? http://www.optidigit.com/stevens/cloudtut.html

Thnx for all the reactions people :)
I don't know what's going on with my avatar but I just get the picture I use, a 60*60 (or even smaller) avatar. And everything seems to be working fine. Might be the server where it's hosting having some problems yesterday.
I did see that tutorial but those techniques weren't working for me so I got stubborn and tried my own way using the pictures as a reference. I never really used low opacity brushes to paint before so it was a pretty educational experience.

Yep I followed Steven Stahlberg's tutorial, it's a good tutorial for clouds...

jimius: if you actually read the image your avatar was replaced with, your server doesn't allow remote linking. Also called "hot-linking".

Just to continue the cloud theme - here is a test I was playing around with in 3d max:

I was hotlinking but the site where they are hosted is meant for just this purpose. If something goes wrong there I can't really help it, But i've removed my avatar for know just in case.
