Is anybody going there now? I'm thinking about applying to SCAD Atlanta for grad school (either sequential art or illustration), and I'm wondering how people like it there.

It seems that Atlanta has the Sequential Art major as well, but like you said I'm not sure if the instructors/courses there are as good. I'm hoping to visit sometime during the summer to check it out. Is it really hard to get accepted into? I imagine the grad program would be even harder to get into.

Thanks for the reply!

The professors are actually sometimes better at the Atlanta campus, it really varies by major. You can check out scadstory.com to look up specific professors or ask at livejournal.com/~scad_community what other students think as far as the differences between Atlanta and Savannah in regards to a specific major. There are always going to be more electives and more options for class days/times at the Savannah campus because more students go there and you're less likely to get stuck taking a professor you hate because he's the only one who teaches a class.

I believe SCAD's acceptance rate is 54% but I don't know if that's for undergrads only or if it encompases first years, transfers, and graduate students or not. A good portfolio will definitely help set you apart from other applicants but unfortunately SCAD doesn't give out much scholarship money for grads so it won't help you with that.

Sequential (/Concept Art minor) professors are better at SCAD-SAV no contest. When ATL started up they asked the SAV profs about moving and they all refused. Some of them are the founding members of the major. The concept art classes were started by Paul Hudson, who is also at SAV.
