painter X pan center disable?

ok im trying to learn painter X
im working on a large canvas and im zoomed in doing my coloring...
im using a tablet
a constant problem and constant annoyance is i'll hit the space bar and pan...
yet i always accidentally double tap... which centers the canvas... and when im all zoomed in.... so if im working all the way down in the corner and i pan and it centers i gotta zoom all the way out switch to my zoom tool and box zoom back in... then i find i will accidentally do it again the very next time i pan... is there a way to disable the centering while pan feaure?

unfortunately you cant disable this.

maybe you need to turn off double click assist for your tablet or you could try panning using the binoculars in the bottom left side of the canvas.
