Tropical Christmas

Hi...
I'm still learning painting in photoshop, so please give me alot of input...

this is my submission for some little contest in www.diskusigrafis.com

concept :
Christmas come to allover place around the world, brings the christmas spirit to them who believe. All of the people celebrate christmas not just in a big city, not just in a snowy country.
So.. I try to present christmas spirit in a small village in a tropical country
no snow flake, no snowman
it's only a sunny day with scarecrow santa...

Actually I'm not too satisfied with this. I don't know how to paint human skin...

please give some input, critics, advice, etc.
