Mine does that too, recently after spamming me with a dozen boxes that brushes are corrupt.. I tried uninstalling, removing all other Painter X files left behind, cleaning up the computer, then reinstalling, but it didn't work... so I need help too! :(

Hi folks,
Not sure if this will solve the problem but it can't hurt:
1. With Painter X closed, go to the Painter X User folder's > Workspace you were using when Painter X gave you the error messages about brush variants:
Mac - Users > [User Name] > Library > Application Support > Corel > Painter X > [Workspace Name]
Windows - Documents and Settings > [User Name] > Application Data > Corel > Painter X > [Workspace Name]
2. Highlight and rename the Tracker Settings.xml file Backup_Tracker Settings.xml. The next time you launch Painter X, a new Tracker Settings.xml fill will be automatically created.
3. Launch Painter X and see if things work better now.

That's a new feature of Painter X.
You should update to X.1 if you haven't already.

Portus,
The Tracker palette was introduced in Painter IX.
It's Workspaces that were introduced in Painter X. Is that what you meant by "That's a new featue of Painter X" ?
Merry Christmas, everyone!
