ahhh...the sketch is quite crappy...but it gets the job done,,,

Me and a friend of mine are going to try our hand at a 3d shooter (video game:p ) -- he programs, and i do the modeling

this is the design of the main character...personally, i like it, with the exception of the legs and the hand,,,which needs some fixin'

if anyone has any tips, suggestions, comments, questions, problems, or if anyone has any ideas that would make the design of the legs/hand better,,,,please post!

btw, this is going to be only my second time modeling a humanoid figure--im using Milkshape. be as critical as you can--i dont want to model for 8 hours, and ccome to the conclusion that it looks like shit because of how i designed it....

honestly...it needs more character...you should really be able to get an idea of who this guy is, his intentions, his mission, his personality all from the design alone, without any backstory. adding a face would do a world of difference, as well as more original and exciting costuming. good start, but you could really push this further. good luck with your project.

..i agree! this is not finished.. no way! keep on it! draw more! explore this character! don't just take the first drawing you made and use it as a technical drawing (ok i don't believe this is your first drawing but stil..) .. you're character deserves more effort from your part!

(nice drawings stil! :) )

..also, it would really help to know what kind of game this is! what is the setting? backgrond? what is the idea? what year is it? fantasy? cyborgs? aliens? etc.. this helps defining the main character and critisizing it ;) ..

i'd say good drawing! --that could get great!

in my peronsall opinion, what makes a character is the props that you give him. A fat guy, or a skinny guy is always gona be a fat or a skinny guy, but if you give him cool items, clothing, and other such prepes, than and only than does he become and actuall character.

I think he needs bigger hands. Like Michaelangelo's David style hands. And lanky as he seems he should be bending more somewhere.
