Revised Deadline: Sunday, January 18, 2009, 11:59 pm anywhere in the world.

Topic: I AM?

Let's try something just a little bit different this time out. The end of one year and the beginning of a new one is usually a time for retrospection and introspection. So, let's go with that thought...

The title of this Challenge is "I am?"

We're going to do a comic as usual, from a minimum of TWO pages to maybe 10 or more if you really think you can do it, that defines how you see yourself, or how you think or would like others to see you. Think of it as a sort of "Maybe it's a self portrait--if you squint just right..." It can be a complete fantasy. However you wish, you're going to define yourselves, and what makes you you.

You can do this in the first person, or the third. As a straight story or a collage of imagery. You can get as truthful and personal as you wish, tell a fairie tale, or lie through your teeth. Whatever floats your boat. Heeheehee...

It technically doesn't have to make sense in the traditional sense of one panel leading to another if you wish. In fact, it doesn't even have to have a single panel in it. It can consist of all full page images, or a mixture of panels and full page in any fashion you wish, or even one long continuous image cut into sections to make the pages. The text, if there is any, can be treated as you wish--balloons, sidebar, or as random thoughts/comments.

As usual, black and white or color as you wish, in any medium. The time is also extended for this to get around the holidays, so you have a good bit of extra time. just don't wait til the last minute.

Standard Comic Book Size:

--Trim size: 6 5/8" x 10 1/4"
--Live art area: 6" x 9"
--Bleed size before trimming: 6 7/8" x 10 1/2" (1/8" in all directions)

Hmmm!! Even if I can't finish it anytime soon (I'm heading on vacation from the 13th to the 30th), I thought of some ideas for this POW! Would be good to use my experiences this year...in some nifty way. @_@ I'm sure I could think of a cool way to say "I am VERY VERY FREAKIN' COLD!!!" when I was in Norther Alberta. LOL!

this is a small transcript/thing I have written down but my visual ideas keep developing at the rates of knots. Should keep it simple really, like the 'not our kind' I think I have drastically over thought this one.

- That’s because ‘I am’ a genius! ‘Who’, ‘I am’ is ‘I’ and not therefore you, which means that ‘what’ ‘I am’ is therefore comparatively not you. You are therefore, are not a genius. In turn, my perception of a genius is ‘I’ and only relates to the conception of ‘I’ as ‘I am’. Through perception ‘I’ can label myself as ‘I am’.

I sincerely would like to see you get two pages at least penciled for this Sundance. When you show us something it is generally pretty good. Don't be so much of a tease.

I have a ton of client meetings and work to do between now and the deadline so the two pages I post tomorrow will be the total of my finals I am afraid. At least I put in more attention to detail than I customarily do, and I color them this time. Mine, as usual, stretch "sequential" a bit, and I think Sundance's more formal American-looking style will probably draw eyes in the poll.
