Random concepts for my portfolio.
I did these and others in my spare time this month (which wasn't a lot) but I do hope to get a whole ton more done soon.
Any critiques for improvement would be good.

Cool stuff Brass...

That "thing" in the middle is really disgusting ;) Whats the stuff it poos out? Bet it's some kind of poison or something.
aha... it's the plague he's speading, damn thing. That's just evil

The only crit I have is the feet on the character, can't really figure out what it is but somethings not really right. It feels like the right leg is a bit shorter than the other. But itmight just be that the legs are so thick that my eyes get fooled...

the concepts are the tits - your line work is the shit - coloring is okay - rending is very well done. you missed the orange rings on the dudes left boot. my favorite of the three is your werebeast. the hands are beautifully constructed and the rat tail makes it very unique. i think to better them, for a portfolio, i would simply add some designerly shapes for presentation sakes; or something of the like, so the blank, white backgrounds are not so apparent.

I love that werebeast. I also find the left leg of the chemicalsuit guy abit on tip toe, not really planted flat on the ground. Maybe you could replace the white background with a neutral colour like those you done before. Your new website is really cool.

Foot/leg issue: The hip is off, causing the right leg to be forward of where it should be. I didn't notice it at first, but after others' comments and taking a close look, that's what I see.

Well - the were-thing is pretty much out of control. I love it. They're all really good.
My crits are: As everyone else is saying, I think the first guy (who is really fresh, btw) could do with some extending of his left leg. If it were more forward towards the viewer and his toe extended under the other foot it's make the perspective more convincing. The blobby guy is neat and well rendered, but he's a little too blank to be scary. If you gave him a signifier that denotes some sort of personality or menace it would be way more creepy and intimidating.
Well done, the lines on the were-guy are amazing.

Excellent stuff as usual. You've been getting much better with coloring since dropping the mouse.

Thanks for the comments and crits. I'm noticing mistakes and stuff I've got to work on.

Kress: good ideas, especially about the floaty sac and the addition of more of a personality. I think I'll play with crazy-bright colors sort of like a poison-arrow frog.

PriNcE oF SpAcE: I use photoshop 7 to color, pencil/ink/paper for drawing.

Love that space suit in particular. Original and cool. Those gloves are awesome. If I had a crit, it would be that the cloth part of the material seems thin and not too protective, perhaps because of some of the sharp edges and details...know what I mean? Thicker material might roll more. Anyway. Always dig your posts.
