So it's that time of year when I start receiving more emails and postcards from the Directory of Illustration trying to get me to take out a full page ad. I've never considered doing so in the past but with the economy not doing so well and possible cutbacks in corporate advertising (which would affect my storyboard work), I'm considering trying to market my work to other areas I haven't addressed in the past.
My question is: Are there artists out there who have used the DOI on an annual basis who feel they've greatly benefited from doing so? Or did you not notice any difference from your normal means of marketing?
Any insight you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
