Hey, i wanna post some work up here, figure drawing is one thing i really love and i have'nt contributed much to this forum except for the thunderdome.
anyhow, 1 to 10 min poses from my sketchbook (ball point pen and pencil)

these are sweet drawings...and the ball point pen technique seems to be working well!! great lines and tones. What kind of pen do you use?

These look really nice. Great form and structure.
Advice:
-Have you tried accentuatin curves and stretches by using varying line weights?
-Try over exaggerating the pose, for a more dynamic feel.
I'm likin em, but I say this to get ya thinking differently!;)

btw, do you got to accd, or have you sat in on any of the workshops? I see you're from the L.A area, and maybe you've taken classes with Kevin Chen...have you? Your stuff sort of looks like his.:)

elwell, not these but i did goto school there for a year, and took this last term they had off. we'll see what i need to do next...
cateaic, thanks, i these were just done with a blue bic pen.
Iwasink, i dont goto artcenter but i do drop by workshops occasionally and yes i've study under kevin for awhile..

you have beautiful lines. Do you use those straight lines for the proportions or rather for perspective, or both? Personally, i like the line weights you use, however, a bit angular at times.

attackcat, the long straight lines are just to get the proportions, and angles correct. once that initial layin is layed out i'll look for something interesting in the pose and start building the structure and form of the model.
hope that makes some sense.
