This question seemed to fit this section of the forum most, if there is another section just tell me, im new to this site. but im 17 years old and i love to film and i actually want to go to RIT for the film production program, and i want to know if i get my BFA in film production is that good enough for me to teach film? I want to be a director most of all and share my stories but i would love to teach others about film. So is a BFA enough to teach in high schools or even a college?

Im pretty sure you'll need a teaching certificate to teach in high schools (thats how it works in Michigan.. K-12) - you could teach college after you get your BFA, assuming you have a decent portfolio and some experience showing you know what your doing... but most likely you'd be hired as an adjunct teacher (fuck that, unless you enjoy being paid badly)

Highschool yes, though you'll have to go through the process of getting a teaching certificate after you graduate. Teaching for college generally requires an MFA.

For university, you generally need to hold a degree higher than the one your students are going for. That is, you would need at least a Master's Degree to teach students working towards a BFA.
