playing around with texture brushes yielded this. about an hour and a half in photoshop, crits welcome.

thanks for taking a look, darkcult. i agree, the background wasn't quite working for me, and additionally i thought the image could be pushed a lot further--i updated the image with more definition, general explodery, sparks, and a shadow casting to give the picture some depth.

I havnae seen texture brushes before, but hey, that reminds me a bit of the Balrog.
