Emotion through Eyes

Here's a project i have been working on lately. All pictures used are original personal photography. The project was to create 3 full page illustrations conveying emotion; this is part one of three, titled "Somber". Influenced by Terry Miura. Rendered in Photoshop 7 and Illustrator 10. All Comments/critiques welcome!

That's reaaly cool! Did you actually make those from scratch?

Yes, everything is from scratch. The eyes are photographs of friends/classmates. I basically played around in PS/Illustrator until i got the desired effect. I used a lot of custom brushes and erasers as well as dodge/burn. And to make everything a lot easier...i used a wacom. :)
