and because my artwork sucks.
AND because I've pratically never used Painter.
Here's my character...Sonia.
You can probably tell I use to be an Anime artist. :mumble:
I've drawn female anatomy for the last four years, but I was stupid and included Anime as a major character design.
Now I've taken a live-nude drawing class and have been drawing ppl in class.
So yeah.
That's me.
Hi everyone. :hello!:
Plz critique?

-I think that's definately a good start! The pose is especially good. One thing you might want to work on is your contrast. Since the colors are so light and the background is white, you don't have very many dark values.
Try changing the background to something dark, then you'll be able to see what parts of the angel to darken as well.
Keep going! I'd like to see this progress-

Eeeeeee!
I adore critiques.
I will definately take your word for it.
ooohh...now I feel bad because this is an "it's a finished piece of artwork" section.
Erm...
Well, I hope I don't get burned for that.
Anyways, I will work on shading and contrast since I've had some trouble with that lately too.
Thank you!

Special K, saying you suck is no way to talk about yourself. Just because you may not be as good as some of the talent on here, doesnt mean you should look down open your talent. I know that announcing or admiting that you are inferior seems like a way to gain acceptance, but you shouldnt go that route. Have self respect and self confidence. Its okay to want to be better, thats how you get better, but dont shoot yourself down by saying you suck.
Now for the critique. There are two things your picture lacks: form and anatomy. To acheive form you need to define depth through applying shading and highlights. To get the anatomy you should use real life as a ref, even if it is anime you are drawing. Look at the really good japanese anime artist - they distort antomay but its still there.
Good luck and keep posting!

Im not all concerned about you gettin down on yourself, i guess I just read into it too much. It just bugs me when ppl say they suck at something and dont give themselves any creadit.
Btw, life drawing is the best way to improve skills IMO.
