It's rare for me to make a thread like this for a single album but I just got this album and it's absolutely amazing. It's one of those things that just feels... special. If you don't know who Steven Wilson is he's the songwriter of Porcupine Tree, No-Man, Blackfield, Bass Communion, and many others. He's also produced and collaborated on TON'S of bands albums such as Opeth.
This album is very hard to categorize. All I can call it is Eclectic Progressive Rock because it spreads out to all different genres (Rock, Shoegaze, Psychedelic, Avant-Garde, Jazz, Electronic, etc.).
I got this album and I listened to it once yesterday and three times today. On my iPod all 4 times... there's something hysterically ironic about listening to a Steven Wilson album on an iPod. If you watch the trailer you'll see what I mean, he's such a Luddite.
Here are the trailers: The first song is "Harmony Korine", The second one features the song "Get All You Deserve" which is one of my favorites on the album. If you watch closely, you can catch a glimpse of Mikael Akerfeldt and Martin Mendez from Opeth and Jonas Rensky from Katatonia. There was a film that was recorded for the album and I think it'll be released eventually. It looks amazing.
