Welcome to my sketchbook!

Feel free to comment, critique, and whatnot. I won't cry, I won't get mad, because you know what? I know that I need improvement.

Here is a sketch of Rax. He is a character that I made up. He's a half raccoon half fox creature called a Vulpelotor. The thing he is standing beside is not a window, it's a crooked painting of some trees (yeah I fail at drawing detailed trees).

This sketch was done in graphite and I tried fiddling with it in photoshop to resize and improve the quality.

Seeing as my digital work is not as good as my sketches, I won't post any just yet.

The process in drawing the picture:

Sketch with geometric shapes and whatnot

Final sketch over the geometric shape sketch

Inking thick lines

Cleaning up the picture by eliminating pencil lines.

Taking a picture of the inked sketch (I do not have a scanner)

Cleaning up the line art

Color and shading

I know, it's crap...I said I'd try and get out of that mangled derivative style.....but I can't seem to :(

The person in the picture is Dilton Doiley from the Archie comics, by the way.
