First off, just wanted to say how awesome all the sketchbooks here are, its impossible to keep up with all the goodness!

With that out of the way, a bit about me. I am 23, an engineer by trade, currently working on software for military aircraft. As such, my left hemisphere is considerably more active than my right one, and it has gotten to the point where my creativity is for all purposes nil.

As a night-time art-lover, I want this to change, and therefore I have decided to take up drawing and painting (and a bit of 3d). I hope you can help me fuel the motivation I need by giving me some serious C&C! :bashful:

So, I start this off with posting some really basic stuff to get this going.

Hey thanks for writing in my SB, much appreciated.

The 3d is looking great here, really nice lighting on the cubes, reminds me a bit of the game "Portal".
The volume sketches look successful, although a tad more contrast would really sharpen them up.
The portrait I cant really crit on, as I cant really make out the picture.

All the best

Alex

Didn't quite manage to go off with a bang like I'd hoped, but have started again, this time digitally. Bought a wacom tablet and photoshop, and while it's a bit slow on my old laptop, it's manageable for the moment.

I were a bit ambitious at first, and started this portrait of Summer Glau from a photo (http://images.starpulse.com/Photos/Previews/Summer-Glau-ff02.jpg) I found. Tried to be technical about it, as evidenced by the grid lines still present in the image, but found it too much of a challenge. So will pause this and try to learn the tools by doing some easier studies and sketches.
