Well, I first have to say how amazing the work I have seen on this site is. You guys are simply oustanding, and you have given me heaps of inspiration to do what I can to become better.

Now on to other things. I am an aspiring artist myself. I am currently in high school in the most advanced art class I can take, and I plan to go to college for illustration and game art and design.

After looking at all of the amazing things here, I realize that I am hardly close to the high calibur that I need to be to be successful. I really want to bring myself up to the par that you guys are at!

I think that the mentor thing would help me, even if I can only get a little help I hope that I can get a lot out of it.

I will be uploading some things that I have done, and some sketches, so you can get an idea of my skill level. Hopefully I won't be beyond help or too low level that I can't mix it up with you artistic giants.

I have been told that I am good by many people many times, even told by game industry employees that they would hire me as a concept artist with my current talent (I think I have improved since then), but I want to be great!

I know it's been awhile since I posted, but I planned to scan a few things in and my scanner crapper out on me, so as soon as I can I will put those in so I can hopefully get a mentor thing gong on soon. Sorry again!

I can't really help since I wouldn't be at your level, but if you really want to improve and get analytical help you should probably just start posting really. There's the daily sketches, the sketch journal you can set up and the community mentoring. I know that there's some really great back and forth workshops that you can post in the community mentoring section and that would help you a lot.

A lot of sites have speedpaints, wips forums and paint over sections so that would be a good direction also. The only way to get better at painting is to paint a LOT, and draw on paper even more. There's plenty of tutorials for specific things to do and most of the time I find people are more than willing to help in these forums, so you just have to get involved.

Here is a few more web-sites that you might want to browse (I think some of them are hosting Dominance comps too right now) www.pixelbrush.net, www.imaginefx.com, forums.cgsociety.org, cghub.com/forum, www.gameartisans.org, www.deviantart.com, www.digitalart.org.

Conceptart.org is def. the best site I've found so far, and the list goes from best-> not so great. In the middle a lot of the sites are most 3d, but I find that branching out stops the mind from stagnating. At the end... you might want to skip over you might want to try. I know DA has some amazing artists and some really good communities, but you have to look at it can be really hard to get help there.

Good luck on getting one on one, but even if you do you should try these sites if you haven't yet.
