i have recently felt that animation is no longer a suitable course for me, as i really want to develop my drawing skills for game design, i was just wondering are there any art schools in Canada that focuses on game Concept design?

Check out the Max the Mutt thread, and also the web site. We offer a four year diploma program in Concept Art for Animation and Video Games.

I've seen excellent artwork both from Sheridan and OCAD
and at the end
it's not specifically about 'concept art', it's your art skills and ability to apply them.

Maybe the illustration program is better for you?

It's the ability to come up with original ideas that express the script or game idea, and the skills that enable you to bring those ideas to life.
You need a combination of excellent representational fine art drawing and painting skills, illustration skills, and concept specific courses including the appropriate computer courses. It helps to have some animation, layout, and storyboarding.
