allot of the small details were lost in the shrinking of the image, but posting the whole thing would be crazy.

is the Anubis warrior holding the human up with his right hand? if so I cant see where. Is the human falling against the Anubis warrior? If that's the case ther doesn't seem to be enough motion in the form of the human. I would love to see this colored so that the two figures are more seperated, they sort of blend (being all black and white, go figure). The anubis warriors left thumb looks odd, I can't say exactly what is wrong, perhaps a better skilled/knowledgable forum member could help out. There is kind of a mishmash of genres, the armor sort of looks like samurai (especially the helm) and it looks like while he is an anubis warrior he has symbols of various other gods about him. the inner part of his helm looks like wings so I think horus. the scarab is associated with Khepri.

dont get me wrong, it is good. I am just point stuff out.

I gots ta get me a scanner so I can post something of my own. Sort of like an art skill provenance, yes?

the hand holding the guys up is actually grabbing his helmet (you can see part of his arm, but its pretty dark), and i agree that is the weakest part of the picture (imo) as for the other symbols in the picture, i was going for the traditional headdress but using armor plates... also, the bars running down his cape are korean for a few elements.

i did this all w/o reference so i didn't really know any Egyptian symbols... the spiral design i use on pretty much everything i draw. i was messing around with the triangle desing for some of the trim and i think i like that. as for the scarab and wings i was just trying to recall the 30min of the mummy i saw a long time ago :P

sort of an FYI a primer on egyptology. However your google-fu may be stronger than mine... so seek what you will.

Not a bad start, but you should definitely make sure that you get reference material when drawing something that is culturally iconic, especially something as recognisable as Anubis.

The borrowing of elements from other cultures isn't necessary with a culture so visually interesting and diverse as Egypt.

Hope that doesn't come across as harsh, I just think it will be beneficial to your future concept work.

Have fun :)
