Batman WIP

Well this was supposed to be an old man holding a dead child when i started out, but i i started it after i saw the fan film "Batman Dead End" at fanfilms.com. so then it turned into this...........

now im gonna start painting it up in photoshop, never done that before so hope it turns out well.

I'm not sure the nudity adds anything to this scene - think about whether it effects the mood or not. Also, the girl's neck seems over-long and strangely supportive given her current state. Watch your light sources on the DK himself, and think about the way the cape is lying on the ground behind him - it seems to be going uphill. Also, give him a mouth - how else is he sposed to give the lady the one last dramatic kiss just before she dies?

Good luck on painting him - however, unless you are an experienced traditional painter I would not expect amazing things to just happen in PS; without a firm grasp of light/shadow and color theory he will be just as difficult to paint as he normally would. I'm not saying this to be condescending; more as a warning from somebody who originally thought that digital painting would be WAY easier than traditional (for reasons unknown; probably the abundance of amazing digital artists that traverse these hallowed boards), and found out otherwise pretty fast! ..ok, just don't expect those white areas to magically materialize themselves when you open that line drawing in photoshop! ..finish your sketch before you color it.. it will not be better because you color it - it will just get color..

..i agree with adam, her neck is whopass stiff and long! also i think the batman's head is a bit thick - perhaps make it a bit less wider - and make the "ears" a bit shorter..

..going from old man with dead child to batman with naked girl is kinda.. ehh.. funny.. ;) anyway i think you should try to believe in yourself! sure study batman and draw him, but don't give up on your own ideas! :) your own ideas is the only thing in this world than can make you "original"! remember that..
