hey all I have a question what is the difference between the WACOM intuos 2 Platinum , and the regulars blue series. I saw the same size pad, same usb, but the price is cheaper on the platinum. What is the difference?
Anybody,
Thanks

When you said same usb, I guess you overlooked that the "blue" or Midnight colored tablet was not a usb tablet. That one costs more because it is made for serial connections, not usb. Hope that helped you out.

the intuos2 in blue is usb or serial, i think the platinum series are just a silver version if the same models, the wacom site shows no other difference. and i have a usb blue intuos2 in front of me here... just be sure to check the connection before you order ;)

Cal Wacom to get more information if you need it. Their contact info is available on the Wacom site.

Platinum is for the ones who think they are very special and it's cool to have silver tablets...they are more expensive because of that, but there is no difference...

umm i thought the platinum had a different feel, like it has more resistence with a grainy quality to it.

Hi,
Grain, or appearance of Paper texture is controlled inside Painter by first choosing a brush variant for which the Subcategory name includes the word "Grainy", adjusting the Grain slider, Paper sliders, and the Directional Grain and Invert Paper buttons (Painter 8) or boxes (earlier Painter versions).
I would guess Brush Tracking settings will also have some effect.
All Wacom tablets are pressure sensitive, though the Intuos 2 tablets have twice the levels of pressure sensitivity (1024 as opposed to the Graphires' 512 levels).

andriod has a platnium intuos. he said the tablet face has more of a bite to it, it's not smooth like the standard intuos. almost like the platnium has a grainy sandpaper surface like schlo-mo said. it's not for people who"think they are very special and it's cool to have silver tablets..." talk to wacom or andriod.
