Not necissarily this forum...
But on the main thread there is only one five star rating?? I assume this illustrious honor is meted out by the admin.
Again - not necissarily this place, (but the one 5 star rating does read like an ad) but other forums as well. You will see some killer piece of art on some thread with no stars.
I think that threads should include a voting scheme for stars- or better yet - bag it!
Art is so subjective.

main problem you're referring to is:
0 stars doesn't mean everyone gave it least possible vote. people just didn't vote because they're too lazy. i'm too. ;)
IF a thread is a hammer and a honoring soul stumbles over it, it'll give the thread 5 stars. given this motivation of 5 stars showing up, lots more ppl will vote the thread, mostly resulting in either a 5-star thread b/c it is a superb thread or something inbetween because it's some flaming going on in the thread: party a vs. party b.
party a ppl rate 5 stars, party b ppl rate 0 stars.
wow... philosophy about stars and rating... i should go to bed...

I think the ratings are kind of useless since no one (?) uses them. I don't. I almost don't even know where to vote ;)
I don't know if it's better to remove them, though. What does everyone think? Are ratings good or bad? Should they be removed or maybe improved instead? I'm merely asking...I'm not planning to do anything about it now (seeing as it's a small detail and there are more important things to fix first)

Huh? Yet I didn't know that there is a rating option...

i never saw the voting option either - pays to look - now only to get paid to draw, or drink beer
I am curious how many people don't know they can vote - maybe if the rating selector was at the top of the page.
What if there is only one vote with 5 stars - does that make a 5 star rating? Can you vote for yourself a hundred times - not that there are any devious egocentric tweakers on these forums or anything
