Worked fast and dirty...just like Sparth, except he knows how to get it right.

recently I've got 2 very good advices: look out for my saturation, and work more with landscapes.... well I tried to solve both problems with this pic.
C&C welcome.

the colors on the canyon walls are great and the shadow of the hovercraft on the wall really adds dimensionality to the surface of the rock.

I'm having trouble reading the water in the bottom of the canyon, I think it should be reflecting more colors from the sky and the rocks. When it's in shadow, it should be really dark.

this is great! Im a fan of sparths work as well and I can see the influence, I like you choice of local(very neat way to hide an outpost)......and ship shadow,.
the canyon walls look great as well ..I agree with bwkeough the water could use some more refineing...but over all I would be happy with this pic!..

I'll say the same as bwkeough. And I might be making a fool of myself, but what about some glow! Your in "darkness" looking out. Shouldn't things be more illuminated?

ps. fed hjemmeside, du er sgu dygtig!

hi people, thanks for the support!:D

bwkeough/ yeah I have a problem rendering water...but I'll work on it.

Noose/ I am happy about it too! but I have to do more in this style before I am really proud.

Endregan/ I've been to the Marko workshop! and traveled a lot so I haven't drawn so much than I should have... even my post average has gone down! I've PMed you.

Scumworks/ Another Dane! cool :chug:  :chug:    :barf: and :chug:

You might be right with the lighting, but I have a tendency to oversaturate my images, and I am really trying to keep it down.

Halis/ happy you are impressed!

On the right hand canyon wall, where it goes off into the distance, put some haze, some atmosphere, it'll add a lot more depth to the pic. Nice choice of colors and values. Keep it up. Peace

hey rob!

nice image!

hmm i think saturation ainīt really a problem.
itīs more the relation between the colors that matters.

i made a quick (and sloppy paintover) to show what i mean, hoping u donīt mind

ok here i did some changes

and now i increased the sturation a lot, then inverted the hues and finally fiddled with the hue slider some more...

i hope u can see that when the foundation is somewhat right, you can go wherever you want with hue and saturation, just keep it relating well!

keep it up! your waaaay ahead of me anyway!

Phuzion/ hey thanks! your point is similar to dan's..

Dan.v.D./ wow dan, you really took your time with your reply! I am happy you like it, and I agree with you on the colours thing.

But I do try to keep the saturation down, because it makes it easier to realate hues, and if I make a wrong colour choice it usually isn't that visible....or something like that.

Anyway thanks for the paintover, I really need to work on my bg depth.
