Ohhhh man. I can already tell this thread is going to give me the jibblies. You people are going to come up with something from my nightmares, I know it...

Why are the creatures always horribly creepy? ;) Perhaps I'll submit my own spider person if I have time tomorrow. Er... today.

Well, heres my humble contribution to this Splendidly Marvellous Forum(maybe some a**-kissing will get me somewhere........maybe not....forget it..... )

Some kudos to RubyGenesis....I kinda got the idea from his entry to the Thunderdome6(y'know...the horseman with the bow)

http://www.xs4all.nl/~rfriet/peppo/images/peppo_spider_warrior.jpg

Pencil sketch, edited with a tortillion :P, 2hrs.......waay too long

Edit: Nice idea..maybe...a horse-guy vs. a spider-guy, good vs. evil....or what about whole war!....nah..too much work..I'm too lazy for that

Ugh, man... spiders freakin creep me out. :xx: These are great guys, gives me shivers. Mine is more human than spider, 'cause I'm not the biggest fan of them.
Anyways, I need to go to more figure classes... I only know how to draw like two different poses. :)

nice work one and all, but here's my thoughts on a couple:

Scumworks: Nice... love the colors and the strong contrast.

Roger: love how you handled the hips/thighs and the inverted look to them.

Vincent: nice musculature.

littlemac: man oh man am I sorry to hear about the misfortune - but you seem to be back in the schaaawing - _nice_ concept!

al-x:

j1w0n
November 20th, 2003, 09:16 PM
al-x's concept begs the natural question.. "would you hit it?"
after a lot of deep consideration, and despite the possibility for decapitation, i am inclined to say, "sure, i'd hit it." any other takes on this?

hito- i love the body on yours but the face would look better if you designed it a little more (omg i can't believe i'm saying this about this topic) "realistic". haha

nice job to all.
you're getting good really quickly, btw, "crave my nightmares".

Anyone seen "Arachnaphobia"? Don't. Its crap. Anyway i didnt hav much time for this one, about 20mins, and i was pretty tired. He looks unbalanced, his legs meed to be longer and at more of an angle away from his body. I didnt use any ref so he looks nothing like a spider haha.
Not one of my better pieces...

Crave My Nightmares

I have to say......

Scumworks- The lighting in your piece is muy buenos!

Schwoassamoasda- (Did I spell that right?) I....just.... heh...WOW!

Roger- I am digging the long leg look on the piece, gives it nice lines.

Danielh68- I like how the focus is drawn to the face using the clarity. Nice touch.

Plaf- NICE! I think I saw something like that on my patio the other day. I will never open my screen door again. Thanks for helping me re-live that. :D

Vincent- I could do my laundry on those abs, they go on forever!! Very very superb muscle work. Very well done especially with multiple sets of shoulders...

Al-x - Mama like!:D

Thank you for the feedback J1w0n :chug:

Meet Henry and Stan Yuen, conjoined twins under the employ of Captain Haley's Travelling Sideshow. Collectively they are known as the Amazing Spiderman. The kids love 'em.

http://www3.telus.net/badddspellah/Stuff/SpiderMan.jpg

Scumworks, that is so deft! One thing I need to learn is how to keep it loose and fast...

Schwoassamoasda, that's nice with the details of the blending between human and arachnid, nice...

Mad Giraffe, dig the spider-centaur, nifty idea.

Plaf, ah see, that's what I was initially gonna go for Spider People, ie. a multitude of 'em. I got lazy, you obviously did not!

Vincent, haha spiderperson pubes, haha. Cool anatomy.

retrosolid, that is my fave. Love the subtle crisp highlights, gives it that creepy, oily sheen! Yuck.

Killar work everyone.

Schwoassamoasda/Hazzard/Patch/Crave My Nightmares thanks!

hito : said it before !CREEPY!

Halis_Aetrous : Bold use of colors, its the way of the future.

Carnifex : I think the first image has a good composition, and extra time spend on it would be worth while. Second one, freaky!

Schwoassamoasda : freaking cool, love the eyes and the blood from it's mouth.

Mad Giraffe : Looks like my grand ma... except for the shield.

roger : looks hungry, and horny

Hunger_Artist : Keep them comming.

danielh68 : Something about her face makes me sh*t my pants and call for mama.

plaf : I really like it! One question # Is that a sentinal (spelled right?) from the matrix in the bagground :D

Vincent : It's the artist of the future! Now you can both draw and eat at the same time. Just need an extra head and he can sleep in turns :p

Hazzard : ditto here, good work.

dyoung : frightening.... and evil :evilbat: welcome to dsg!

littlemac : hey it's a spider crab, looks lethal. Sorry about your appartment. I'd kill myself if all my stuff were burned to ashes.

Crave My Nightmares : That's one big ass*! Cool the way her skins reflective... almost like latex

mos667 : good use of perspective here too.

al-x : and sick it is! btw is that a iron penis she's licking

MrKayne : Clean cut and sexed up. Always dope!

Patch : she's saying *give me your money amigo, or my loco homies will get ya!*

form_n_focus : evil enough for me.

hito : nice details in that!

scumworks : like the atmosphere. i think yours is probably the most freaky / scary one. *brrr*.... - and thanks! =) (sentinel from the matrix eh? hmm... well, i guess it could be. according to old roland barthes and the whole 'death of the author' thing i guess it doesn't matter what i intended it to be, it's all in the eye of the beholder :)

(no, it's not a damn sentinel ;))

retrosolid : wow.. i really like that! the whole 'inky' feeling to your linework is superb.

bob loblaw : you got lazy and i didn't eh? i'm not quite sure i agree, but i'm glad you think so! :) i like yours - reminds me a bit of that guy from sam & max - now that was a cool game! ;)

nice stuff all around!

Hey guys... sorry if anyone offended by my sketch, shoud've put a warining or something. But I was kinda tired when I posted it.

ploboyko: Like the use of colors in yours, you should use those watercolor tools more often.

...and yepp thats an iron penis she is licking

retrosolid - wow! that one is awesome - I love it!
Beatnik - hey I like that concept, your spider peeps look pretty neat.

al-x - I didn't mind your sketch... I think since it was already kinda freaky spider people, their 'interesting' positions didn't seem very offensive.

tharmine - *tisk tisk* ... :D But, anyway, I like the idea, he kinda got a puppet feel to him, too. It plays on the comparison between spider webs/string.
