Wow this is a great place. Best art I have seen in any Forums.
I drew this today because I was bored in Design I class. Crits and comment are welcome.
Thank you,
Ed

Welcome to the forums.

Is that an animal over his right shoulder or am i seeing it wrong? Anyhow, I really like the linework.

Sketch or not, the quality is there. Solid linework. But, that small crop of the top of his hat bothers me a bit. It seems a bit too interrupted. Were you using a reference on this?

I wasnt being rude and i also think its a very nice SKETCH. hence the sketches section. This is by no means a finished piece. Not that i care but im just trying help the new guy out, once again, it is very nice. Sorry if i came off rude.

well.. it was inked.. thus its not a sketch!

I like it, cool style, only thing that kinda makes me wonder is... why whould the character be European wearing Asian satire? (at least he looks European to me, maybe im wrong)

Sorry for the confusion. Is there a black and white art forum???If not maybe there should be.
I was going for the classic illustration look from the Victorian era. Using lots of hatching and crosshatching.
That white spot was where i cleaned up a mistake with the ink.
It was supposed to be an asain...Guess Ill have to work on the face.

I think next time im going to use a ruler to hatch and see what effect it produces.

Thanks for all the tips and comments.
