I found a Medion tablet and the Wacom Intuos3 6x8. I want to use them with CS3. Which do you think is better and why (considering I'm a newbie at drawing, I suppose)?

I've never really looked into a Medion tablet. I can tell you however that I have only ever heard praise and worship of the intuos series.
My advice is get the 6x8. I just got mine the other day and good god, I can promise you satisfaction.

Well if your a newbie at drawing would you rather practice first on paper first before jumping digital? In anyway my suggestion would also be for the intuos.

I would say, if your just starting out, get a wacom bamboo fun (small). You can find it for 70$ if your a student, or on ebay for less Im sure.
I just ordered an intuos3 6x8, it hasnt arrived but I am pretty excited. But I have been drawing for a long time. Theres no need to jump to digital (unless you really want to, then by all means follow your heart), like Brashen said: draw on paper, then go digital.
