Ok. It's been a long road. I haven't posted much of anything since I first got to the forum. First I had to get a wacom. Then, I did studies for a few weeks, which I may post in sketches. But today, something clicked. I finally got enough of a grasp on my tools to feel a lot of control on what I was doing. So, hopefully, you'll be seeing a lot more, but I thought I'd throw this up cuz I love it.

For the first one, I would ask you to open it up in Painter or some other software again and flip the canvas horisontally.

Then you'll probably see right away what you need to change.

To me, it's not finished. I would refine that one quite a bit, add details and such, in addition to changing the things that need to be changed. Her face especially.

The second one looks a bit cartoonish - nothing wrong with that per se, if that's what you were going for. His features are slightly exaggerated, which gives it that caricature effect.

Try to make it darker, play with values.


Hope I don't come across as harsh - it's just a crit. :)

I'll be looking forward to seeing the progress, unless you feel you're done with these and are moving on.

OK, here's a little update. It's about as far as I'm gonna take this one. I might do some work on Slim though. I guess I was more successful with that, b/c it is a characature, I was going for a more distorted look. His nose isn't pointy enough though. Thanks for the crit though. I'm not new to the game, so you could tear em apart, at least I got feedback. I'll take it into more consideration in my future pieces.

OK, this shoulda been in the WIP section, cause I ended up changing the Shady one too. I really love it now though. I'm having a blast with painter.
