Hi

My name is Ziemowit Skowronski and I am the team leader for game project named Fields of War. Project has been in development in its current form for about 10 months. After first troubles we stabilize our project and vision and now we are looking for additional team members to speed up development process.

Project information
Fields of War is a concept of infantry combat simulator in far future. Our goal is to create extraordinary game which will connect combat and strategy elements with concepts from RPG and economy games.

We do our best to creating new player interaction model, allowing to control as many game aspects as possible. Player will be able to create his own hero and will decide about his evolution. Game will be various for various game characters. Some players can create character which will be recruited into light infantry and some players make character for heavy infantry. All of them will have different weapons, different missions. In most missions players will be able to see this same action from various positions regarding to created character.

The player is a soldier. In progress of creating character player could make decision about skills and abilities. From this depends assignment into army structure and function in squad. During game character skills are upgrades and he gets more experience. This decide about promotions and function. Soldier is equipped with basic cyber implants: vision processor, health monitor and weapon connection. Due game character gets salary and extra cash for extra missions and brave on battlefield so gave player ability to buy additional implants. Because army regulations allow to soldiers usage private weapons (but according to function) player can buy advanced weapons for his own usage.

Our plans is to make independent storyline. This mean that world is living his own rhythm and if player will be injured he will go to hospital. After few days when he finished healing he find out that his squad was relocated to another area and hi is allocated to another squad. This give player many ways of game. Our goal is to make story which will be different any time of play.

At commander level, when player character become squad leader, player have control over six soldiers. This require planning and strategy skills both in battlefield and before mission in equipment selection.

Game world is based on many ideas. Goal is to create huge universe with different planets, space stations and others. Game action is covering area over half of galaxy. Any object, any idea have to had technical explanation. No matter that this technology is fiction - this fiction have to look realistic. We do our best to create world refer to best traditions of SF and create uncommon climate. This is kind of fusion between space opera, cyber punk and third world's war.

What we want from you?
If this is something you're interested in, great. But there's a few things we'd like you to know about project first.

First and foremost is that Fields of War is not a paid project and all of us are working for free in our own time, most while balancing school and/or jobs. All investments we are providing from our own pocket and this is major limitation for project. Because of this we decide to focus on creating simple demo with 1-2 levels and then start fighting for investment. This of course doesn’t mean that we are not looking for investor now, but no one want to talk seriously when there’s no demo.

First: Who we are looking for?
Modelers and/or animators: Modelers are responsible for creating models of all required things in game. In most cases you will have concept arts but not always. Sometimes you will have to use only description and consultancy when modeling. We are working on limit this situation but as long we will have too less concept artists this situations will be. In most cases you will have to create textures and animations also.

Concept artists: This is hardest job in project. We require from artists two things: SF and military visions. These two are necessary for feeling climate of project. You will be responsible for final shape of visual part of game from concept of GUI to spacestations design.

Texture artist: This is most ungrateful job. You will be responsible for creating textures for models. Most important here is teamwork with modelers.

Second: What we are looking for?
If you have drawings or models or anything else and you want to share it we will welcome you. We are interested any form of creation which can be used in project. Just only mail your works to us with your permission for usage. At current state of development we can only offer you place in credits. In future when we will find investor we can discuss payment.
